FAQ'S
Q: I've heard of "payday advances" and "deferred deposit loans," are they the same thing?
A: Yes.
Q: What are your requirements in order to obtain a loan?
A: First, and most importantly, we recommend you contact your local store and speak to one of our loan specialists. Depending on the State in which you are located and the individual store's needs, this answer may vary. However, the following information is generally required, company wide:
- You must have an active checking account with at least 5 transactions per month.
- You may not use starter checks.
- You must be employed full-time at least 90 days or receiving retirement/disability payments.
- You must earn at least $200.00 per week(after taxes).
Q: How much may I borrow?
A: Our loans generally vary from $50.00 to $600.00. Once again, contact the local store to see what your State allows.
Q: I understand your requirements and criteria but how does it actually work? What do I do when I come to one of your stores?
A: Don't worry; it's an incredibly easy transaction. Go to your local store with the above mentioned items (don't forget to call ahead to make sure they may not require additional items). At the store, our loan specialists will give you an application to fill out. Once you are qualified, you will write personal check/s for the amount/s you are borrowing plus our fees and date them for the day you want to pay it off. You get the money right away and the checks are then due at your next payday.
Q: On the day its due, what happens?
A: That is entirely up to your. Our policy is simple. We deposit all checks at close of business on the day they are due. However, we recommend you come in on that day (or earlier if more convenient for you) and pay off the loan in cash. The advantage to paying off your loan in cash and in person is that, generally, you can do another loan immediately. However, and we know we sound like a broken record, check with your local store and specialist first, some States require slightly different payoff procedures. If you want us to deposit your check, that is fine with us but be aware that in order to obtain another loan from us after we have deposited your check/s, we require either 7 business days to have passed or proof from your bank that the check/s have cleared.
Q: Do I need to update my information with you every time?
A: Well, yes and no. Please, if there a change in any of your original information, such as a new address, job, phone number, etc., let us know when you come in. However, we generally want to update your file every three months or so. We'll let you know when you come in the time before. One thing, though, we purge all files after 6 months of inactivity so if it's been over six months since you visited us, you will have to apply all over again.
Q: I am behind on my bills and do not have great credit. Will I be able to obtain a loan from you?
A: Generally yes, that's what we are in business to do. Help good people who get behind on everyday bills by loaning them a little extra money when they need it. Of course, we promise no one anything until they come in and apply, but please try us, we are sure you won't be sorry.
Q: May I obtain loans from my savings account?
A: Unfortunately no, we must have you write a check/s from an active checking account.
Q: I do not have direct deposit; may I obtain a loan from one of your stores?
A: Yes.
Q: I am on disability or social security; may I obtain a loan from you?
A: Of course.
Q: I am receiving unemployment; may I obtain a loan from you?
A: Unfortunately not, if you are a current customer of ours and switch or lose your job, please let us know immediately so we can work with you to help solve your issues.
Q: How long can I borrow money for?
A: State laws may vary, but our rule of thumb is until your next payday but no longer than 31 days. Don't worry, we are nice people. If your next payday is tomorrow and you really want to pay it off on the following payday, we will work with you.
Q: What other services do you offer?
A: We leave that up to our individual store owners to decide. However, we expect them to offer at least the following financial services:
- Money Order Sales
- Money Transfers
- Utility Payments
- FAX Service
- Stamp Service
We hope that these frequently asked questions were helpful. Please, however, always feel free to contact one of our stores if you have other questions. It is our pleasure to serve you!!
